Food-Grade vs Standard Silicone
2025-08
Food-grade silicone must pass food-contact certifications such as FDA and LFGB, with stricter limits on total migration, volatiles, odor and heavy metals; standard silicone is aimed at industrial or general use and may not meet food-contact rules.
Beyond certification, pay attention to the cure system and post-curing: well post-cured parts have lower residue and less odor. For tableware, baking molds and baby items, choose materials clearly labeled food-grade with traceable test reports.
